Payment Policy
This Payment Policy explains how The Lifting Lads ("we", "us", "our") handles deposits, payments, fees, and accepted payment methods for all moving and transport services.
This Policy applies to all bookings made with us and is deemed accepted when a booking date and time are agreed verbally or in writing.
1. Booking Deposit
1.1 A deposit is required to secure all bookings for our moving and transport services.
1.2 The deposit amounts are:
-
$50 for standard bookings
-
$100 for moves exceeding three hundred (300) kilometres
1.3 The deposit:
-
Confirms and reserves the scheduled moving date and time
-
Will be deducted from the final balance of the job
1.4 A booking is not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.
2. Final Payment
2.1 The remaining balance is payable upon completion of the services.
2.2 As our services are charged on a time basis, the final amount is calculated based on:
● The total time worked
● The applicable hourly rate
2.3 Our current standard rate is $150 per hour, with a minimum charge of $300 per job.
2.4 Payment must be made immediately after the services are completed, unless otherwise agreed by us in writing and therefore then the 2 weeks allowance is approved.
3. Long-Distance Moves
3.1 For moves exceeding six hundred (600) kilometres, the remaining balance must be paid in full before reaching half way to the delivery location.
3.2 We reserve the right to withhold goods until full payment is received. We may exercise a contractual lien over goods for unpaid charges, in accordance with applicable law.
3.3 For standard moves under three hundred (300) kilometres, billable time includes travel between the pickup and delivery locations. For moves exceeding three hundred (300) kilometres, additional travel time required to return from the delivery location may be charged at fifty percent (50%) of our standard hourly rate.
3.4 All travel time charges will be included in the total time worked for the job.
4. Accepted Payment Methods
4.1 We accept the following payment methods:
● Card payments
● Bank transfer / PayID
● Cash
4.2 We may introduce or withdraw payment methods at our discretion.
5. Late Payments
5.1 If payment is not made when due, the amount will be considered overdue.
5.2 We may exercise a contractual lien over goods for unpaid charges, in accordance with applicable law.
5.3 We reserve the right to:
● Apply late payment fees
● Charge interest on overdue amounts
● Recover reasonable costs incurred in collecting outstanding amounts
● Suspend or refuse future services until all outstanding amounts are paid
6. Commercial and Invoice Payments
6.1 Where invoice payment terms are offered, payment must be made within the timeframe stated on the invoice.
6.2 Late payment fees and recovery costs apply to overdue invoices.
7. Policy Priority
7.1 This policy overrides any assumptions, expectations, or verbal agreements regarding payment unless confirmed by us in writing.
7.2 Variations apply only where agreed by us in writing.
8. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend this policy at any time. Amendments apply only to future bookings.
